We know that for many women entrepreneurs, the challenge is not a lack of talent, ambition, or quality. It is visibility.

A great business can struggle to be seen. A brilliant founder can remain unknown. A woman can build something exceptional and still find herself competing for attention in spaces where access, networks, and exposure are not equally distributed.

#GirlBoss is our response to that gap.

Through this initiative, WTAL provides additional visibility to women-owned and women-led businesses within our community by using our platforms to shine a light on the women behind the businesses, the work they are doing, and the value they bring.

Our commitment extends to businesses that have participated as vendors at any WTAL Canada event. When you show up in support of our work, we believe there is value in finding meaningful ways to support you in return.

Because our work is not only about putting women at the table.

It is also about making sure people see the women who built the table.

Through #GirlBoss, participating businesses may be featured across WTAL’s social media platforms and community channels, helping introduce their products, services, stories, and brands to a broader audience.

We do this because visibility can create opportunity.

A new customer. A new connection. A new collaboration. A referral. A partnership.
Or simply one more person discovering a woman-owned business they may never otherwise have encountered. And sometimes, that is where growth begins.

Women should not have to build alone. When women-owned businesses become more visible, they become easier to discover, support, collaborate with, and invest in.

#GirlBoss is one small but intentional way WTAL contributes to that ecosystem.

We celebrate the women behind the businesses. We amplify what they have built. We connect them to our community.
And we remind our audience that where we spend our money, who we refer, and whose businesses we amplify can all be acts of support.

Supporting women means more than cheering for them.
Sometimes, it means helping people find them.

WTAL Canada

At WTAL Canada, we believe lasting change requires more than good intentions. It requires people willing to examine the systems around them, challenge what is no longer serving us, and use their influence to create greater access and opportunity for others.

The Male Ally Recognition & National Conversation is a biennial WTAL initiative created to recognize men who are actively advancing equity for women while creating space for a broader and more necessary conversation about the role of men in achieving meaningful change.

This is not simply an awards program. It is a platform for examining what allyship looks like in practice, where influence sits, and what it means to use that influence responsibly.

Our journey began in 2024, with a focus on recognizing allyship at the community level. In 2026, we moved the conversation into the systems that shape opportunity, examining how men in positions of influence can help challenge barriers and change the structures within which women work, lead, and participate.

As we look toward 2028, the conversation will continue to evolve. We are increasingly interested in a harder question:

What does it take to create change that becomes lasting, cultural, and transformational?

Because ultimately, the measure of allyship is not how often we have to ask for change.

It is whether we have helped create a world in which change becomes the norm.

The initiative brings together leaders, advocates, professionals, policymakers, and community members for recognition, reflection, and national dialogue, because advancing equity cannot be the responsibility of women alone.

Allyship is not a title. It is a practice.
And meaningful allyship requires action.
