WTAL Canada, operating from and located in the heart of Southern Alberta, both acknowledges and pays tribute to the traditional territories of the people of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprised of the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai First Nations), the Stoney Nakoda (including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations) and Tsuut’ina First Nation. WTAL also recognizes that the City of Calgary is also home to Region III of the Metis Nation of Alberta. By the signing of Treaty 7 in 1877, the organization recognizes that we are all treaty people.
WTAL is a connector between the people and government, organizations, communities and associations, and is amplifying the city's efforts towards gender equality, women empowerment, increased female inclusion and representation, and increased government efforts in support for women advancement and women-led enterprises.
