National impact through community-driven transformation.

WTAL is dedicated to empowering females, in a manner that is unprecedented within and outside the region. WTAL has carved a niche for itself by limiting touchpoints and channels for all women by offering a comprehensive range of services to meet an assortment of need. Every female: teenage, youth, immigrant, disadvantaged, and minority, is front and center in WTAL efforts. Regardless of the nature of the challenge (in or about employability, career, business, education, discrimination/representation, personal/professional development, and relationships etc.), we commit to create and continue to build a platform where every challenge receives some resolution. At WTAL, we understand that females are confronted with unique challenges in their endeavors across the society and may not have access to the resources they need to overcome. Consequently, WTAL offers coaching, mentoring, business advisory, business showcase, investment/funding connection, and most popularly, WTALs monthly lecture-seminars, Woman and The Society (#WatsSessions).

We connect our community with women who have navigated career and employability issues and risen above, and as a result, can provide industry information and advise for the different phases of career building. With the help of our sponsors and partners, we ensure that women seeking opportunities to acquire more certification and/or degrees who considered ready (by the course administrators) are supported with a portion of the costs so that they are able to progress onto their career path. 

The end goal is that women are armed with tools required to rise to leadership/executive level positions in organizations.

With a considerable portion of our membership/community falling between mid-teens to mid-twenties, and one of our objectives being our desire to empower the next generation, we had to ensure that we are honoring their consistent participation in WTAL activities and delivering on our promise by developing services that support youth empowerment. When one considers that over 1 in 10 immigrants to Canada are youth (ages 15 to 24) in addition to a currently burgeoning population, this demographic does require tremendous support - including for those who moved to the city and are transitioning to a new life/lifestyle without family. WTAL invites youth to all its event so as to create and reinforce the feeling of belonging and being included. Initiatives include mentorship and career coaching sessions, and the disbursement of awards to those who record academic and community prowess.

Through seminars and workshops, we aim to introduce new women entrants into the city with a community of women who look like them and most probably are perfectly positioned to offer the required support. In any new city, there is a lot of learning and acclimatizing necessary to settle. 

Within our large community, we have built a substantial inventory of women, who (initially immigrants), have made Calgary home and are excited to pay forward the assistance they received. We are excited to facilitate the connection between a community of women who are willing to hold the hands of younger and/or newer women in meetings and mix/mingle and networking sessions.

The stats about women facing discrimination in social culture is astounding. Our view of wellness at WTAL is subjective; we know that wellness could imply satisfaction to mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, economic, social, and occupational dimensions. based on this knowledge, individual requests and popular demand, we are continuing to widen the breadth of partnerships with organizations delivering services to an aspect of women's wellness. 

Are you looking for a group to join for outdoor activity, yoga, a walk, or lunch in the park, we are aware that even what might be considered 'small' or unimportant activities such as these are critical for overall wellness and so we have just the right partners to connect you with.

While we nurture the entrepreneurial spirit, WTAL also helps women who have business ideas but lack the skillset to develop them into a clear strategy, to produce business plans and necessary documentation to support their vision.

We also assist women with budding and thriving businesses further promote their products and services to a potentially different and unreached client group. In these sessions, we invite participants to prepare verbal presentations and/or product exhibitions to ensure that awareness is undoubtedly raised.

In a bid to break down the barriers that continue to separate women from beneficial relationships, WTAL opens its platform and doors to women from all walks of life: in ministry, public office/politics, and different professional sectors, career levels, and points/positions/junctures in their lives.

Mingling + networking are critical to ensure that  in addition to personal and business development, people can form the necessary relationships to thrive in myriad parts of their lives. While WTAL seeks to connect women to career and business opportunities, it also wants to be the platform where conversations grow into mentor/mentee relationships and business partnerships. Nobody is an island and no business operates in a vacuum.
